Born 1939 in Germany. Art School from 1956 to 1961. Art director in Heidelberg, Germany. Turned seriously to photography in 1968. Studios in Heidelberg and Duesseldorf. From 1969 -1980 regular contributor to Stern, Playboy, Die Zeit, Lui, Freundin, twen, etc. Author of several books. Member of the prestigious 'Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Photographie'. Klemm is best known for his large colour photographs.

Some of his new photographic work has recently been shown in Vancouver, Toronto and New York.

He was invited by FotoFest 2006, The Eleventh International Biennial of Photography and Photo Related Art, Houston, Texas, to show his so far most significant project Metamorphosis which received Honorable Mention at International Photography Awards 2006. Metamorphosis has also been exhibited at Foto&Photo, Photography Festival, Cesano Maderno, Milano, Italy, end of the year 2006.

In May 2007, Eric was awarded 1st prize, category portrait/culture by PRIX DE LA PHOTOGRAPHIE, PARIS, for his recent book project: SILENT WARRIORS- Portraits of North American Indians, and 3rd prize, category fine art/abstract, for his new conceptual series Shavings.
