Diana Hayes
Diana Hayes was born in Toronto and has lived on both the East and West Coasts of Canada. She has been part of Photosynthesis since 2001. Her photography has been commissioned for book covers and has been shown in galleries in Vancouver, at the Sooke Fine Arts Show, and at the Parallel Art Show in 2021 and 2025. She has lived on Salt Spring Island, since 1981.
Yellow Point Lodge was founded in the mid-1930s by Gerry Hill, well known for his longevity and spirit. The lodge was a quiet and wild getaway through the 40s, 50s and 60s, with a coil sprung dance floor and two miles of sea frontage and parkland. I’ve been visiting Yellow Point Lodge since the mid-1990s. On one of my recent visits, I found these old cars stashed behind the property trails, slowly becoming one with the foliage and moss of the forest, emblems of the 'good old days'.
