June Boe
June Boe’s father, Earl Dalgleish, was a Warner Brothers pictures western Canada sales distributer, giving her a glimpse into film and photography. June fell in love with both media and became a pioneer VHS film maker, artist, photographer & painter. June moved to London, England for 2 years to study art before returning to West Vancouver. Her first dark room was in an old character home in Ambleside where she produced black and white photographs, attending night school to further her craft. Moving to the Sunshine Coast next, she continued a successful career doing photographic portraits using home based dark rooms in houses she designed and built. Her business in Gibsons focused on weddings, private portraits, classic portraits and old buildings. She moved to Salt Spring Island, designed and built another house with a focus on photography, art, and large format paintings. Where June continued to be an energetic lively contributor to the Salt Spring Arts scene.
