On a very still, misty morning on St. Mary Lake, Saltspring Island, I pulled over to take in the beauty and hushed silence of the moment. There against the indistinct merging of water and haze I found the graceful delicacy of branch married with the strength and solidity of rock—a lovely harmony of balance that evoked a sense of calm, delight and appreciation.
